A hole appears.

Everyone Who has left:

  • Hestia
  • Dionysus – No matter how hard it may seem, I can’t give up on trying to make a career out of theatre.
  • Wadjet
  • Sekhmet
  • Raphael
  • Lucifer – When I first encountered Him, I loved the idea of learning how to play the violin for Him, but He was hesitant to confirm it. The only thing He conveyed for the portion of the Questionnaire about any debts or obligations was that I should go ahead and do so.
  • Voldemort
  • Nagini
  • Unknown Spn Entity – I was able to find out that my suspicion was correct and this was Dean.
  • Baldur
  • Hoder
  • Nanna
  • Sif
  • Idunna
  • Kolga

I am closed off to the Family of Mountains, Family of Snow and Ice, and the Family of Fire (other than two plamen Who have already visited).

Rather than having People leave outright, I’ve simply had Some turn Faces away: Narvi (Older Face) and Loki (Mardi Gras and Harley Quinn World-Breaker Faces).

Some pages have been updated, consolidated (in the case of the Tribes), and just outright deleted to reflect these changes. However, with changes being conveyed daily and trying to update more than one online space, I can’t guarantee that all updates will filter to every page / blog for a little while.

Jotun Intro: Snow / Ice Tribe

A non-exclusive introduction to some Jotuns (Cont’d)

Snow / Ice (Family of Snow and Ice)

There isn’t a King or Queen of the Family of Snow and Ice. The individual families within the Family elect a Head, either through vote, being an elder, or some other consideration depending on the family. The Heads gather together and make decisions for the Family, as the Snow Court. Lower ranked courts also depend on representatives of the families making decisions and getting the approval of the Snow Court, such as courts that handle law-making and trials of law-breakers.

This system was created for the governing of Niflheim and works quite well for this Family. However, interacting with other Realms has required putting forth Someone to act on the Realm’s behalf. Anyone from Midgard interacting with this Family may run into any member of the Snow Court, and they often will also wind up interacting with the family members of that Snow Court member as well.

The Snow Court has specifically elected two of its members to interact with the other Worlds of Yggdrasil as ambassadors and representatives of the Family. Many members can juggle running Their Realm, interacting with those of us on Midgard, and keeping up with Their family, but They often are not interested in juggling politics and commitments with the other Eight Realms on top of this. The Heads Who represent the Family of Snow and Ice are Kari and Holda.

Cеребро

Cеребро (silver; Siri-bro) is a снежинка (literally Snowflake; a Snow Jotun) Who indicated preference for she / her pronouns. Associated with the snow that glistens in the sunlight like it’s made of diamonds. Most people are accustomed to seeing this snow only on the ground, so She isn’t as playfully active as some in the Family are. She seems to like Igor Stravinsky’s music, so listening to it can be an activity for Her.

Preferred edible offerings: Ryazhenka (milk / yogurt related beverage) and borsch (soup most often including beets). It will depend on who approaches Her as to how She wants offerings set out and/or disposed of. She hasn’t been drawn to edible offerings as much with me, so I haven’t needed to worry about disposal or presentation.

She has a particular connection to Orenburg shawls and the means of knitting those. Because this is very specific to the region of Orenburg, it isn’t a requirement to try to learn how to make one of these in order to interact with Her. Buying one (in a traditional color – white or gray) and supporting those who make these shawls may be an alternative, and She does seem to appreciate knitting in general (so making something else or using a different style seems to be okay). Depending on what you know about other fiber crafts, they may also count (probably safe to check with Her before dedicating the action).

“Snowflakes twirl and fall down” – Снежинки кружатся и падают

The first снежинка (literally Snowflake; a Snow Jotun) to drop by was “Snowflakes twirl and fall down” – Снежинки кружатся и падают. She would like me to share basic info about Her. I admittedly tend to just use Снежинки (Snowflakes) as a nickname / easier to use name than the full phrase She indicated as Her name.

Associated with snowfall that isn’t thick, heavy, or fast (more light, powdery, playful while falling). She likes dancing and has a particular fondness for ballet. She likes Classical music, particularly the work of Russian composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Because of this, listening to music She likes and dancing (even if it’s not ballet) can be activities done for Her.

Preferred food: blini – with fruit preserves as a topping. Preferred drink: water. It will depend on who approaches Her as to how She wants offerings set out and/or disposed of. She hasn’t been drawn to edible offerings as much with me, so I haven’t needed to worry about disposal or presentation.

Other activities: going to a ballet performance, a well intended attempt at making blini, trying to find little appreciative moments of the beauty of snowfall (preferably when Her type is falling). She feels young and adventurous, so it’s possible for trying something new to be an activity for Her as well.

unNamed Jotuns / Rokkr (intro)

In addition to interacting with Deities and Powers Named in Their respective traditions, I’ve had Some stop by Who fall into this nebulous ‘wight / Deity / Spirit’ category. They’re Jotuns / Rokkr Who aren’t Named in the Lore, and I can’t guarantee that some of the information applies in how I interact with Them will be useful for others. The main example off the bat is that different Tribes are connected to certain languages.

I’m currently only likely to have three certain Tribes drop by, so I’m primarily just going to be sharing what I’ve learned from Them. These Tribes are: Mountain, Fire, and Snow / Ice. They have reasons for stopping by (as opposed to other Tribes), and each one is associated with a language. I will likely stick to the English translations of some phrases (especially when tagging here), but I wanted to cover them here in case I leave them in while transferring notes to posts. ((It will also help to explain why some Spirits don’t use English names.))

Mountain Jotuns stop by because They’re distant relations of m’Lady Sigyn (in my practice, Sigyn is the offspring of a Mountain Jotun and an unNamed Aesir). Currently, there have been tips on warding / protective magic. They’re connected to German, so the collective term for the Tribe Family of Mountains may also appear as Familie von Berge. The term for an individual Mountain may also appear as Berg.

Fire Jotuns stop by because They’re related to Sunna. Currently, there have been tips on cleansing methods, but Someone has also stopped by Who doesn’t have an explicit cleansing connection. They’re connected to Slovenian, so the collective term for the Tribe Family of Fire may also appear as družina od ogenj. The term for an individual Flame may appear as plamen.

Snow / Ice Jotuns stop by because They’re related to Kari and Holda. I’m not 100% sure I want to get into another reason in this specific post, but Their connection to Russian also plays a part in why They’re interested in me. The collective term for the Tribe Family of Snow and Ice may also appear as Семья из снег и лёд. The term for an individual may be Snowflake (снежинка) or Icicle (сосулька).
